Vector Watch, revolutionary smartwatch brand and valued agency-wide client of Red Hot Penny, launched their first collection to UK press at an invite-only London event in July. The event was a huge success with over 100 members of tech and fashion press turning up to receive a sample of the watch. Publications in attendance included CNET, BBC, Wallpaper, ELLE, Esquire and International Financial Times to name a few.
Red Hot Penny's PR team assisted Vector with the planning and execution of the event, specifically sourcing an appropriate venue and managing the guestlist. The event was amazingly star-studded with famous faces behind the DJ booth and trying on the watches. In this blog post, we give you a sneak peak at the successful event that launched Vector Watch to the world!
The Mondrian Hotel on London's Southbank was chosen as the venue for the event due to it's central location and stylish decor. Subtle branding was placed behind the bar, on tables and by the DJ booth which added a nice touch. A sync station was set up to allow attendees to connect their smartphones with the watches meaning they could walk away with a fully working Vector smartwatch.
Influential bloggers were also in attendance, including Lydia Millen, Sarah Ashcroft of Pommie Girl and fitness blogger Ali Gordon. All of the bloggers who attended the event posted on the night to their thousands of social followers and wrote outfit posts following the event. Amber Le Bon and Laura Whitmore were DJs for the evening, while also sporting their new watches.
An event of this nature is a must for any start-up brand looking to make a big statement in their industry. Vector's launch events in London and New York secured the brand name in crucial journalist's minds and helped secure high quality coverage. Big thank you to all that attended including our client Hugo Taylor of Taylor Morris Eyewear and all the bloggers and press.
Keep an eye out for a fully detailed case study report on the London launch event in the next few weeks.
